Modi Gio is a Georgian artist living and working in Tbilisi. He started painting at a young age and always knew he’d be making art. He later studied architecture and began working as a graphic designer. Throughout this time, however, he was still drawn to painting and continued doing so.
Gio’s images are inspired by emotions from outside – people, architecture relationships and landscapes. These are reoccurring themes of his work. In addition to outside inspiration, when depicting each of these, there is an element of himself that he is putting into the work. ‘Everyone that creates something ultimately creates themselves,’ he added.
